Gould, Tatu, & Kane
Hurting
Chestnuthill -- A Cluster Flop in Progress
By J.J.
Publius
Chestnuthill
Supervisors Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane raise taxes, lose
$10,000, put the Township in debt to tune of $5-million, neglect
potholes in the roads, fail to solve traffic problems, fail to provide
adequate security, blow-off the Haunted forest and more.
It's
time
for a change!
Chuck Gould, Maureen
Tatu, and Leigh Kane are the Chestnuthill Township Supervisors. Last
year we reported that the Gould regime (Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and
Leigh Kane) is hurting Chestnuthill Township. This year it is
getting worse.
Gould, Tatu, and Kane
are hurting Chestnuthill Township. They should be fired and replaced as
soon as possible! However, township supervisor terms run six years.
Thus, in order to fire Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane as
soon as possible it will take a recall election to do that.
Tax
Hike and Wasteful Spending
For the 2006 Chestnuthill Township budget, Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu,
and Leigh Kane raised the Chestnuthill Township property tax millage
from 2-mill to 4-mills, thus nearly doubling the Chestnuthill Township
property taxes.
In June, we learned that Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane blew
$10,000 for a batting cage. They blew it for two reasons. (1)
Chestnuthill taxpayers should not have to foot-the-bill for things the
likes of batting cages. (2) Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane
used Chestnuthill taxpayers' money to pay for the batting cage --
before they received it. And they never received the $10,000 batting
cage.
Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane deciding to waste
Chestnuthill Township funds for a batting cage was bad enough. But then
paying $10,000 for the batting cage and not getting it is gross
negligence with taxpayer money.
Gould Regime Screws the
Kids -- Haunted Forrest Cancelled
Meanwhile, Chuck Gould,
Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane cancelled the annual Haunted Forrest event
held at the Chestnuthill park on route 715. They have tried to lay the
blame for cancelling the Haunted Forrest on everyone but themselves.
But ultimately it was the responsibility of Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu,
and Leigh Kane to see to it that everything necessary to hold the
annual Haunted Forrest was in place. Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and
Leigh Kane failed to do so. And they refuse to take responsibility for
their failure.

Chestnuthill
Sued for Carelessness and Negligence
In April, Chestnuthill
Township was sued because Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane
have failed to see to it that Chestnuthill's roads are properly
maintained. According to a Complaint filed in the Monroe County Court
of Common Pleas at 2442 Civil 2006:
"the minor plaintiff . .
. was lawfully riding on a skateboard on Ash Lane, R.R. 6, . . .
when suddenly . . . skateboard hit a defect , namely a
hole/depression/pot hole in the road, throwing her onto the roadway as
a result of which the minor was caused to sustain . . . serious
in juries and serious impairment of bodily function . . . necessitating
repair . . . severe shock to . . . nerves and nervous system . . . some
or all of which injuries are believed to be permanent in nature . . ."
It's bad enough that
Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane have failed to see to it the
Chestnuthill Township roads are kept in good repair. It is bad enough
their failures have exposed Chestnuthill to law suits because of the
poor road conditions. But even worse, a child was severely injured
because Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane failed to do their
jobs.
Roads,
Potholes, and Traffic Jams
Last year we discussed
the sorry conditions of Chestnuthill roads, focusing on the Lake
Mineola Road. And we discussed the Brodheadsville traffic jam problems
too. Moreover we offered solutions to the Brodheadsville traffic jam
problems.
The Lake Mineola Road
still looks like a war zone. Please see Figure 1, below.
And Brodheadsville still is a major traffic jam. Chuck Gould,
Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane have failed to adequately repair Lake
Mineola Road. Moreover, Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane have
failed to alleviate the Brodheadsville traffic jam.
The failure of Chuck
Gould, Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane to fix all Chestnuthill Township
roads and to fix the Brodheadsville traffic jam is a very inconvenient
pain in the butt for Chestnuthill citizens and guests. Perhaps even
more importantly it makes travel on Chestnuthill roads hazardous – and
it subjects Chestnuthill Township to even more lawsuits – thus
unnecessarily costing Chestnuthill taxpayer money – and wasting
taxpayer money.
How many more people have
to get hurt, injured, or killed because Chuck Gould, Maureen Tatu, and
Leigh Kane are not seeing to it that Chestnuthill potholes are filled
and Chestnuthill roads are not properly maintained?
Don't forget that Chuck Gould,
Maureen Tatu, and Leigh Kane also have neglected to solve the
Brodheadsville Bottleneck problem too. See

Figure 1. Section of Lake Mineola
Road near its intersection with route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.
It's visible from the Chestnuthill Township Building.
This road is so bad here that vehicle drivers have trampled out their
own Northbound lane along the roadside in order to avoid all the
potholes. (Photo left) Interestingly, the makeshift dirt-road
traffic has trampled out is in better condition than the actual
roadway.
Notice the destroyed and eroded shoulder
and East edge of the road to the middle of the photo. Also notice all
the
deep pot holes on the East lane of the road (photo middle). And there
are potholes in the West lane of the roadway too (photo right).
Here, the entire remaining road surface is alligatored and cracked
indicating need
of at least a seal-coating. However, Lake Mineola Road should have been
completely resurfaced years ago. It should be
resurfaced immediately!
However, Gould and his regime have neglected the Lake Mineola Road for
years. The Lake Mineola Road should be fixed immediately. It's time for
a change!
